Danielle Hobson begins her third season with the Bison working with the sprinters and hurdlers. She also directs the programs' community service initiatives, as well as the Sideline Coaches Program, serves as an academic advisor, plays a large role in the recruiting process, and works with the Spike Shoe Club.

Last season, Hobson coached Kevin MacLeod to a Patriot League title in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles and to IC4A and NCAA Regional Championship qualifiying times in the 110 high hurdles and the 400 intermediate hurdles, respectivley. Under Hobson's guidance, Catherine Trentacoste and Kerry Boyle both claimed indoor 400 Patriot League titles and took home Second Team All-Patriot League honors outdoors in 2007. Boyle has set school and league records in the 400 and helped set a program record in the 4x400 relay on Hobson's watch as well. Trentacoste also earned second-team honors as part of the 4x400 relay team and in the 100 hurdles where she broke her own school record and went on to earn All-East honors in the event at the ECAC Championship. In addtion, Hobson coached Andrew Yehl to a fifth-place finish at the league meet in the 110 high hurdles and an IC4A qualifying performance.

In total since joining the Bucknell staff, Hobson has coached 10 league champions and several ECAC/IC4A and NCAA regional qualifiers.

Hobson made her coaching debut at The United States Military Academy at West Point where she worked with the men and women sprinters and hurdlers for two seasons. While on the staff for the Black Knights, she helped the men's team win two Patriot League outdoor titles as well as an IC4A outdoor title.

Hobson has attained USATF Level I and II Certifications in Sprints, Hurdles & Relays and Endurance Running and is also a Women's Coaching Academy Graduate and a member of the Black Coaches Association.

A graduate of Rutgers, Hobson competed in the sprints, hurdles and multi events and was elected co-captain and MVP as a senior. Hobson clocked a 400-meter hurdle time of 58.28 and competed at the NCAA Nationals, USATF National Championships and in the 2004 US Olympic Trials. While at Rutgers, Hobson double majored in anthropology and geography.

In her spare time, Hobson is an active member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated. She helps to organize community service projects such as Diaper Drives, campaigns to support victims of domestic violence and women's health and civil treatment education.
